How to Disallow Language pages in SEMrush while Site auditing

I see a lot of people are also facing the problem of duplicate issue pages in the audits. These pages are basically the language code version of the main page and can not be accessed from the backend in most cases. They provide a wrong picture of the total no. of issues and health scores.

I’ve found a solution to that problem which I feel like sharing.

Here is how it works:

While adding a project to crawl or re-crawl, go to crawl settings and click on the “Allow/disallow” tab.

In this tab, under the allow side, mention all the sub-folders of your domain (can be found in sitemap or manually). The list in the screenshot is not exhaustive, there could be more.

After adding the sub-folders, run the audits as usual and you’ll not find any duplicate pages in the next results while getting the real data on no. of issues and health score.

Also, one might think that instead of allowing the sub-folders, why can’t we simply put the language code in the “disallow” section.

Well, I’ve also tried that, but it doesn’t seem to work. So allowing is better.
